North Madison Christian Church is a family who believes that you don’t go to church, you ARE the church.
It’s our passion and privilege to share God’s compassionate love with our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, students, community and even others around the globe. We welcome you to journey with us. Just come as you are… the rest will fall into place as God works in and through you.
We are a family of believers who don’t preach perfection (because no perfect people allowed) but are passionate about meeting needs and healing hurts. Our vision is to introduce people to Jesus and make Him better known. Simple. To accomplish this vision, we use a blend of modern technology and passionate teaching techniques. The combination of the two help us present Jesus in a unique way, all while helping people become better acquainted and nurture a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior.
While we have a long, rich history; we don’t live in the past. Looking back only makes us stronger as we enthusiastically look ahead to where God is leading us. While our methods may change in order to reach those who are seeking answers, our message stays the same: You matter to God and you matter to us!
While we might do things a little differently at NMCC, some things NEVER change. Below are our foundational beliefs:
We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who died for our sins and arose from the dead.
I Corinthians 15:1-8
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
I Timothy 3:16
We believe every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned.
We believe forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as their Savior & Lord.
We believe those accepting Christ should repent of their sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him.
Romans 10:8 & Acts 2:38
We believe the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved.
We believe Jesus Christ will one day return to earth to take us to heaven where He will reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords.
I Thessalonians 4:13-18
What kind of Worship Service do you have?
We don’t view our services as services, but more like experiences. The term “service” has the idea as something with a beginning and an end. To NMCC, worship is more than just what happens during the 80 minutes on a Sunday morning. Using a blended approach in music, humor, drama, and multimedia, it is our goal to share an experience together that will help us take the next step in developing our relationships with God and each other. One of our members has said, “I just love coming to NMCC because I don’t know what’s going to happen next.” The word “routine” is not something you will find here at NMCC.
Will I feel out of place if I come casually dressed?
We have a spirit of “Come As You Are” at NMCC. Our Senior Pastor, Bob Hicks, dresses casually when he speaks on Sundays. The worship team also is in casual dress. One of the great things about NMCC is that you’ll find people dressed from suits and ties to weekend casual. It’s all about the heart being open to receive what God wants us to hear.
As a first time guest, will I have to do anything?
We welcome all our guests to come and just check us out. We don’t make you stand or point you out in any embarrassing way. We’re here to answer any of your questions. We would love it if you would fill out a welcome card attached to your bulletin just to let us know you were here… but it’s optional if you’re not comfortable. If you do fill out a Welcome Card, you will not be on a “spam” list, we simply want to know you visited and worshiped with us.
We are not a traditional church. You will not find pews or hymnals. While there is nothing wrong with either of these things, it’s just not how we choose to communicate. We admit we’re a little unorthodox, but we also admit we like it that way!
Our services run about 80 minutes. We display lyrics, scriptures, and sermon notes on 3 large HD screens on either side of stage. We also have a nursing/cry room for mothers with tiny or upset children. In this room you will still see the speaker live, but via video.
From week to week you never know what surprises are in store. Sometimes Robby, Tim, or Brye will bring a message. Sometimes, we even hand out ice cream! While our communication style is a little different, our message is always the same: we want you to know Jesus better, and understand what your next step is wherever you are in your faith.
The music is more of a pop, blues, or country style and leans toward a more acoustic experience. If you like the music of Chris Tomlin or Lincoln Brewster, this experience will connect with you.
