  • dave getz

David began attending NMCC in 2005, having been raised primarily as a Methodist. Being a lifelong Christian, David sees Christian life as a journey. “There are going to be ups and downs, lefts and rights. You never know what Jesus has in store for you. Accepting Christ, repenting, and being baptized is only the beginning of His beautiful mystery.”

One of the biggest mysteries to David is how God brought Dena to him. “I simply cannot imagine any other woman putting up with- well, with me. She is a wonderful woman.” In 1987, God blessed them with a beautiful daughter, Rachel.

David retired after 38 plus years in social work. He is an avid reader (especially history), rode his horses often (before his back gave out), loves movies, sci-fi, westerns and old movies. At one time David was an accomplished "cowboy action shooter," a type of shooting competition. He enjoys watching pro football, college basketball, and listening to several music styles. Though he does not have a pilot’s license, he loves to fly. After Dena retires, they plan on a bit of traveling and doing some mission work. “I can’t think of anything better than having my best friend by my side and doing God’s work.”
